Research into Costumes

Costumes are the pivotal creation when depending of the connection with the audience that you are trying to reach. Spiderman par sae, has a distinguished and noticeable costume as the contrasting blue and red that makes up the main body of his costume stand out and is also what makes him so memorable as he stands out as the human eye can actually remember the colour blue quicker than any other colour in the spectrum other than yellow which is probably why in the films staring toby Maguire as Spiderman the rarely use the colour blue to help him stand out however in the films by Sony with Andrew Garfield as Spiderman, they have a lot of blue filters and colours that are in the blue segment of the spectrum.

The costume that the character has can also tell the audience how good the film can be depending on its genre as if you compare the Spiderman films with Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern  the whole costume which is green was all CGI and with MCU members (Marvel Cinematic Universe,) didn't go down s well as it took away from the reality and authenticity that had happened with the Spiderman Thor and Iron Man costumes which were huge hits when in the box office and for home releases on DVD.

Post Apocalyptic costumes however have a different effect as they have to be dirty and wrecked to give that persona that they have been through hell in order to survive and also they cant have any personal hygiene this can also cause the audience to know what type of character they are such as Eli in the cook of Eli his trench coat and holsters makes him look like a 'bad ass' where as the characters in the road look like they are vulnerable and are on the edges of their limit into survival, as shown by the puffy jackets, many layers of jumpers and many layers with there skinny malnourished faces.
